What is Social Enterprises?

Social Enterprises is a social business (registered as a 501(c)3 public charity nonprofit corporation) based on the framework developed by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank and 2006 Nobel Prize recipient. A social business is an enterprise that is based on business and market principles, but is dedicated to using its resources to helping disadvantaged populations and society in general.

Social Enterprises develops business ventures and partners with other businesses that leverage technology and the power of community to provide value to customers, our beneficiaries, and society in general. The Social Enterprises business “hub” will generate capital and other resources that will be used specifically for the purpose of funding programs, organizations, and other efforts directed at helping the youth and alumni of the foster care system in the United States.
